The House That God Built
Session IV: Remembering God's Church

Ready:
You will need red, gold, blue, black, purple, white and green craft foam cut out into symbols that may help the children remember events in the church. For this activity we have used a cross, crown, flower, cave, street sign, egg and cupcake. A frame for each child, glue and paint in the aforementioned colors.

Variation: Cut the foam in rectangles and punch with a hole puncher then bind with plastic lace to create wordless book that the children can “read” and remember what each color symbolizes.

Set:
With this activity we hope that the children will associate the colors of the church with what they represent.

Go!:
Section the frame into seven sections and paint each one a different color. As the frame is drying you can decorate the shapes and have a discussion as to what each symbol represents.
