  Young Adult Service Weekend
  
  The Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America (FOCA), in conjunction with the OCA's Department of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministry, is sponsoring a young adult service project at SS. Cosmas & Damian Adult Home. We are looking for 40 young adults from throughout the country to gather in New York City on Columbus Day weekend, October 8-11, 2004.
  
  If you are interested in coming to NYC to participate in this project, please email Lara Herzak at lherzak@yahoo.com. We are arranging for discounted rates at a NYC hotel and will pair individuals up as needed to share in costs. You will need to cover the cost of all transportation, hotel, food & beverage.
  
  Below is the schedule of events:
  
  Friday, October 8
  All day -- Arrivals (LaGuardia, Newark or JFK Airports)
  Evening -- Welcome Reception - TBD Hotel
  
  Saturday, October 9
  7:00 AM -- Take Ferry to Staten Island
  All day -- Service Project (to include planting, painting, cleaning, repairing, etc.) at SS. Cosmas & Damian Adult Home
  3:00 PM -- Ice Cream Social with residents
  4:00 PM -- Great Vespers at St. Ireney Chapel at SS. Cosmas & Damian
  Evening -- Dinner in NYC
  
  Sunday, October 10
  7:30 AM -- Take Long Island Railroad from Penn Station to Syosset, Long Island
  9:00 AM -- Divine Liturgy at St. Sergius Chapel at OCA Chancery
  10:45 AM -- Brunch Afternoon -- Departures / Free Time
  
  Monday, October 11
  All day -- Departures / Free Time
  
  If you would like to make a donation to this project for supplies (including plants, paint, tools, etc.) and incidentals (including hotel rooms and food for the young adults, etc.) please make checks payable to SS.
